Prices of essential commodities fixed

The district price control committee that met here under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner, Sheikh Rafiq Ahmad, fixed the rates of various commodities to ensure fair pricing and honest business practices ahead of the festival season.
The committee fixed the rates of various commodities, such as - mutton at Rs 120 per kg; chicken and broiler chicken at Rs 90 and Rs 60 per kg respectively; cheese at Rs. 95; curd at Rs 90 per kg; buffalo and cow milk at Rs 17 and Rs 16 per kg respectively; and eggs at Rs 36 per dozen.
Addressing the meeting, the deputy commissioner directed for the market checking operation to prevent profiteers from indulging into unscrupulous business practices.
