Overstaying PoK couple deported

Rajouri, February 4
Acting on the instructions by the regional passport officer,
Srinagar, the district authorities today deported a couple from PoK, which had overstayed in India. The Indian authorities were on their lookout as the aged couple had not returned to their native place of Kotli on the scheduled date of December 28 due to ill health.

Sources said the couple, Jaman Ali and his wife Jana Bi, had crossed over to India on a travel permit through the Poonch-Rawlakote trans-LOC road to meet their relative Gous Ali Shah of Mendhar. They had to return on December 28 but did not report to the Indian authorities.

The sources further stated that the authorities had picked up the couple from the house Gous Ali Shah. They said on the directions of the regional passport officer, the couple was deported back to PoK.
