Rising fuel prices anger people
Tribune News Service

Rajouri, June 4
People of this district have criticised the Central government for hiking the petrol prices. Reacting strongly against the move, a housewife said, “We are helpless if the government decides to hike prices of LPG, petrol and diesel. But as the elections in the state are round the corner, we will teach the Congress party, which is the main ally in the UPA government in the Centre, a lesson.”

The petroleum ministry this morning announced hike in petrol by Rs 5, diesel by Rs 3 and LPG by Rs 50.

“Every morning I fill in petrol for Rs 200 in my motorcycle to reach my work place. But since the government has increased the rates, my whole budget has been affected. However, we can't do much,” said Aasif Ahmed, a local contractor here who has to move to Nowshera for work. “This decision will rout the Congress party in our area,” he said.
