Rajouri, August 3
A meeting of PDP office-bearers and workers here today criticised the NC-led government for “engineering” attacks on the party offices across the state.
In a statement the party flayed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for unfolding “conditional resignation drama” in the Assembly over his involvement in the sex scandal and its subsequent rejection by the Governor. It said had the Chief Minister been so honest in his deeds and actions he would not have attached any condition to his resignation.
In a memorandum to the Governor, PDP leaders appealed to the Governor to “reconsider” his decision asking the Chief Minister to continue in his post. They also demanded that sex scandal should be probed through a retired judge of the Supreme Court failing which the PDP would be forced to take to the streets for justice.
PDP leaders of Rajouri district criticised the NC leadership for hushing up the Shopian issue.
