Sunderbani (Rajouri), October 16
Unlike other parts of the state where emotive issues are dominating the political scene, development is the only buzzword in Sunderbani, an area in the Nowshera constituency.

Besides better medical facilities, a degree college, residents and political parties seek a district status for the area.

The sitting Congress MLA though has made big claims on development, the opposition leaders have pointed several areas like education and health sector, which need attention.

People said the government should have made Sunderbani a district because of being a “central place” in the area. They also wanted a trauma hospital in the area.

“As this area is accident-prone, former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad announced to set up a trauma hospital at Sunderbani. But nothing has come up,” said Chander Mohan Sharma, a local resident and social worker. Joginder Gupta, local BJP leader and deputy chairman, Sunderbani Municipal Committee, said there was no place for emotive issues and people would vote for development.
