College row surfaces again

Koteranka residents with the help of local PDP leader Moulvi Bashir lodged a strong protest on the opening day of a government degree college in Buddhal in Rajouri district yesterday. Taking their protest to the streets, they blocked the Rajouri-Buddhal road disrupting the vehicular traffic for about two hours besides forcing the business establishments in Koteranka to shut down. The protest was organised in order to draw attention of the government to set a degree college at Koteranka instead of Buddhal.

The local PDP leader, whose party is an ally in the coalition government, along with the protestors raised slogans against the coalition government. After getting the news of the blockade, Rajouri deputy commissioner and SSP reportedly held a meeting with the protestors asking them to call off their protests.
